before doing anything about it. That's probably your problem. I heard my car detonate badly once when a wastegate line failed shortly after my full engine rebuild. Scared the crap out of me - forged pistons might have saved me there. Good luck with your re-re-build. I have 10k hard miles on a new set of OEM bearings and all mods in my profile. No noise, no oil consumption, no problems. Knock on wood.
